Instructions for installing hidden hatches for tiles in the wall
Installing a hatch in walls made of brick, concrete, foam concrete
1. Install the hatch in the prepared opening so that the front plane of the door plasterboard coincides with the plane of the wall.
2. Secure the hatch frame to the wall through the mounting holes using screws or dowels (drill the necessary holes in the wall).
3. Using mounting foam, treat the gap between the hatch frame and the wall.
Installing a hatch in partitions made of sheet materials (gypsum plasterboard, gypsum fiber, etc.)
1. Mount the partition frame taking into account the location of the plumbing fittings. The place for the hatch to the communications is usually located in the center relative to the side walls. This ensures symmetry when gluing tiles. The hatch may be offset relative to the tile, but with the calculation that the tile overlap on the hinge side does not exceed 50 mm, on all other sides - 100 mm. For ease of installation of the hatch, a frame made of CD-60 (UD-28) profile is provided in the partition frame.
2. Fasten the hatch frame to the CD-60 (UD-28) profile frame with self-tapping screws.
3. Sheathe the frame with sheet material.
Note. The thickness of the hatch door is 12.5 mm. If the thickness of the sheathing material is less, pre-install spacers under the hatch frame.
Attention!!! The tile glued to the door may protrude beyond the dimensions of the door from 5 to 50 mm. in the hinge area and from 5 to 100 mm. in other areas (* for large tiles, this size can be increased up to 1.5 times).
Attention!!! Make sure that the glue DOES NOT get into the gap between the door and the hatch frame.
4. Cover the surface of the partition and the door with tiles.
Attention!!! Before gluing the tiles to the hatch leaf, it is necessary to attach a weight approximately equal to the weight of the tile with tile adhesive to the back of the secret hatch leaf and let it sit for 24 hours. This is necessary so that the leaf settles into its place in the hinges.
5. Rub the tile joints, except for the joint between the tiles along the perimeter of the hatch door.
6. Use silicone sealant to waterproof and soundproof the joint along the perimeter of the door.
To open the hatch door, make a cut along the entire length of the silicone joint at an angle of 45 degrees with a wallpaper knife. The slot is made in such a way that part of the silicone sealant remains on the end of the sash, and part on the edge of the tile on the wall side. Thus, when the sash is closed and the silicone layers fit tightly, insulation from moisture, noise and odors is achieved. Later, the silicone sealant can be rubbed with grout in the color of the grout on the main walls.
7. Open the door and cut off excess sealant that prevents the hatch sash from closing tightly.
Provided that the installation is correct, we provide a 60-month warranty on our products.
