A separate category of floor hatches is a hatch for a garage inspection pit.

The specificity of these hatches is that the entrance to the garage basement is often through the inspection pit. And to open access to the entrance to the pit, you usually have to drive the car out of the garage (if the pit is equipped with a swing-out lid) or remove one by one the dirty boards that cover the opening of the garage pit.
